If you want to apply for study in Finland, there are three types of application periods:
✳️Joint Application
Applying through joint application is easy and you can apply to a maximum of 6 programs with only one application. There are two joint application periods in one year:
January (For studies starting in Autumn)
August/September (For studies starting in Spring)
✳️Separate Application
With separate application, you can apply to as many programs as you want, there is no limitation. In separate application, you apply directly to the educational institute (university). Most of the separate applications start around November every year.
✳️Rolling Admissions
Some of the universities have additional way of giving admission. Their application process remain open for a certain period throughout the year and you can apply anytime between that period. If you meet the requirements, you can get an admission to that specific program
Once you have all the required documents (scanned versions of your attested degrees and other documents mentioned above), you simply have to submit your application online on studyinfo.fi
After submitting your application online, some of the universities might ask you to submit or send the copies of your documents by mail (post). So, make sure to have at least 4-5 sets of copies that are also attested from your educational provider or authorities (HEC if you are applying from Pakistan).
As for a bachelor degree, you have to give an entrance exam which is normally held in February-March, so the results are announced in April usually.
For master's degree programs, you will start to hear from the universities in March-April.
Once you have received an acceptance from any program, you will get an acceptance letter from the university. At the same time you will also receive an information regarding your tuition fee an scholarship. Usually, you get 2-3 weeks to accept the study place and pay the tuition fee (if not given a 100% scholarship).
If this is the case, you can't do much apart from applying again in the next application round. Remember it's not the end of the world, whatever happens is good for you. All the best for the next round.
